Neptune's grotto Alghero: visit the amazing Sardinian caves - Escala del Cabirol

Neptune's grotto Alghero: https://www.carrentalinsardinia.com/blog/neptunes-grotto-alghero/

The origins of the Caves of Neptune, of karst formation, date back to prehistoric times. Traces, belonging to the Neolithic, found inside them, suggest that about 2 million years have elapsed since its formation.

The caves of Neptune extend for about 4 km but for safety reasons tourists can access only a part of them. The path inside the cave is about 580 meters. The initial part of the cave is occupied by the lake of marble, with extraordinarily clear waters.

You can reach by sea, embarking on the dedicated ferries, directly from the port of Alghero or from Cala Dragunara, or by land along the famous L'Escala of the Cabirol (655 steps) that winds along the wall of the massif of Capo Caccia.
