Visit Bosa in Sardinia

Bosa is an ancient village lying on the Temo river, the only navigable river of Sardinia. It is located in the historical region of Planargia on the west coast of the island, between Alghero and the Gulf of Oristano.

It stands out to be divided into two zones. Near the sea there is Bosa Marina with a connected port, from a bastion, to what until a few years ago was the Red Island. Bosa Marina turns out to be lively and eventful especially during the summer, when thousands of tourists from all over the world decide to spend their holiday right here.

A little higher than the hamlet of Marina, lies the suggestive village of Bosa, cut in two by the river I fear, which with its coloured small green, red, violet, blue and yellow houses is still on the slopes of the hill of Serravalle, at the foot of the Malaspina castle. The small town with a typical medieval style where you can see, however, Spanish and Aragonese influences, offers its tireless visitors a multitude of beauties to admire and discover.

There are numerous churches scattered throughout the country. These include the Church of the Rosary, a baroque building of the nineteenth century on the main street of the city, while, slightly outside the town there is the pretty church of St. Peter, the ancient cathedral of the Diocese of Bosa Built between 1062 and 1073.

Of extraordinary beauty and charm is the district Sa Costa, the oldest in the country, made by alleys of stone and small houses with a thousand colors that climb on bristling uphill and steep slopes.

Moreover, on the other side of the I fear there is the artisan quarter of the Conce, in dialect called Sas Conzas, ancient structures in which until the middle of ' 900 were worked and tanned skins. The large buildings represent a veritable wreck of industrial archaeology and are characterized by their appearance consisting of a modular and repetitive architecture with gable flanked.
